To start with this piece is extremely powerful. I know this because I have tested it myself. Sometimes we give our pieces to testers to test them, but when something comes in that specifically catches my eye, I like to test it myself. The reason I wanted to test this one myself is simply due to the rumors of magic that surrounded it. I'm typically a skeptic at heart, so when we get pieces that we didn't acquire ourselves through investigation or otherwise, I like to make sure they really work the way they are supposed to work. I can tell you right now that this piece works in accordance to what it was first introduced to me as-- an original magic piece from the Order of the Golden Fleece.
The Order of the Golden Fleece was created by the Burgundian Duke Philip the Good in 1430. It was created during his marriage to Princess Isabella of Portugal. It was established a Roman Catholic order of chivalry. Having only had 1,200 people in its ranks since its founding, the Order of the Golden Fleece is considered to be one of the most prestigious orders of chivalry in the world. The collar that is awarded upon being inducted to the Order of the Golden Fleece is only granted for life and must be given back to the Spanish Monarch upon death. The collar is coated in gold and is reportedly worth $60,000. That's why when I saw this piece and I was told that is supposedly held the powers of the Order of the Golden Fleece, I kind of scoffed. But here's the thing, the powers of the Golden Fleece has been set into this piece as a means to kind of hide the act that this is what it actually does. Clever, if you ask me. It's also very powerful.
